Movie Monday VII Alien Vs. Predator Requiem Edition
Story:
This movie takes place exactly where the first Alien Vs. Predator left off. It begins with a Alien Predator hybrid chest burster emerging from the chest of a predator in outer space. The Alipredator makes short work of the predator space craft and the craft crash lands on Earth in a small mountain town in the United States. A predator on a nearby planet receives a distress call and lands on earth to investigate. The aliens multiply and their numbers grow quickly. It ends up seriously being 1 predator hunter vs. about one hundred aliens and one alipredator with a bunch of the local town folk caught in the cross-fire hilarity will ensue.
Casting:
I choose to not talk much about the casting since i was very poorly done in this movie. A bunch of whiney teenagers you’re just praying gets an alien mandible straight through their face.
Visual Effects:
The effects in this movie are done very well. There are tons of mandibles through skulls and predators just slicing aliens in half. One of my favorite effects in this movie is when the predator literally shoots 2 stoner kids faces right off. Directly following that it shoots a predator and the splatter of acid blood lands on some guys face and it burns his face right off. The alipredator I can’t really see much of a difference in other than that it has the predator mandibles on the outside along with the signature predator dreadlocks. One thing I found really cool was the predalien acted just like a facehugger and could place chestbursters.
This movie might cross a moral line if you’re politically correct. I say this because within the first 5 minutes a 7 year old kid has a chestburster come out of him. Also all of the pregnant women in a hospital has chestbursters come out of them. I myself am not politically correct and I see movies as pure entertainment so this is OK with me. The one thing I see with these movies is the original concept of in space no one can hear you scream. All four of the original alien movies took place on random spacecrafts, the original Predator took place in the middle of a jungle, even the first AVP took place in a pyramid under ice. The only exceptions being Predator 2 and AVPR both which take place in cities which makes me wonder why stay and fight why not just hop in a car and run for your life. I myself hope they split the franchises apart and make an Alien 5 and Predator 3.
